About Doug Verboon

As a lifelong resident of Hanford, Doug is dedicated to serving the needs of Kings County. He has been an active member in our community for many years.

Since 2005, Doug has owned and managed the only fully occupied commercial property in California. As a 16 year trustee of Pioneer Elementary School District, Doug was instrumental in helping the school become the first charter school district in California. He was the recipient of the Kings County School Board Association’s Golden Apple award for his service and dedication to Pioneer School.

Having served as the Kings County District 3 supervisor for the past four years, he feels qualified and obligated to continue to work toward the goals of the current board and administration. Doug is dedicated to representing our County’s residents at the local, state, and federal levels.

During his tenure on the Board of Supervisors, Doug has been extremely active in the fight against the mismanaged High Speed Rail and protecting the rights to water for all valley residents. In 2013, Verboon was named Agriculturalist of the Year by the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his contribution to the agricultural community.

As a 4th generation farmer and local business owner, he understands the unique needs of our county and will continue to make every effort to protect the rights of the citizens of Kings County.
